Core Values
Dependence on God
Aware that we are called by God to work in service that we cannot accomplish successfully on our own, we eagerly express our dependence on God through prayer, fasting, meditation on Scripture, assembly of believers, and other acts of worship. Psalm 143:1, Ezra 8:23, Matthew 6:16, Joshua 1:8, Hebrews 10:23-25, Romans 12:1
Cherishing Life
Humanity is created by God in His own image and is, therefore, of great value. Each human life is a gift from God, worthy of respect from conception until natural death, without regard to perceived ability, quality of life, or factors beyond basic humanity. Genesis 1:27, Psalm 139:13-16, Psalm 127:3, Luke 1:41
Service with Compassion
We show love for our neighbors through practical acts of service, provided in a compassionate way that respects the dignity of every person. We promote justice for and give mercy to those who lack support emotionally, socially, financially, and/or spiritually, with a particular emphasis on service that empowers people to make life-affirming decisions. James 1:27, Psalm 145:9, Ephesians 2:10, Micah 6:8, Galatians 6:10, Jeremiah 29:4-7, Isaiah 58:10-11, Mark 12:31, Psalm 82:3, Proverbs 14:31, Isaiah 1:17, Colossians 3:12
The Gospel of Jesus Christ
The love of Christ compels us to honor and follow him as our LORD in word and deed; to encourage, admonish, and love one another, openly expressing our faith in the workplace; and to be a faithful witness to our neighbors freely sharing the gospel message of repentance, reconciliation with God, and new spiritual life through Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15, Romans 12:10, Colossians 1:18, Colossians 3:16
Healthy Sexuality
We affirm and promote God’s call to sexual integrity for all people. Recognizing that sexual intimacy is designed for enjoyment within biblical marriage between one man and one woman, we also promote healing and restoration where people have experienced sexuality in broken ways. We value both singleness and marriage as good gifts from God, within which he empowers his people to live with integrity and to serve others. Faithful, healthy, loving marriage remains the ideal context for nurturing children physically, emotionally, and socially; further, Christian convenantal marriage provides the best foundation for training children spiritually so they will have the abundant life God intends. 1 Corinthians 6:16, Matthew 19:4-6, Isaiah 56:1-7, Matthew 19:2, 1 Corinthians 7:8, 1 Corinthians 7:32-35, Hebrews 13:4, Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Ephesians 6:1-4, John 10:10
Integrity
All of our dealings are honest, ethical, and transparent. We value integrity, humility, authenticity, and responsible stewardship in our relationships with employees, volunteers, supporters, service recipients, and the public. Micah 6:8 , Romans 12:10, Matthew 5:16, Proverbs 11:3, Titus 2:7-8, Colossians 3:23-24
